Establishment Tips

Timing -  Legume fallow want to be drilled August / September, making sure it is drilled into warm soils where there is moisture present.

Sowing Depth - Seed wants to be broadcast or very shallow drilled. You are only aiming to put the seed in the subsurface witch is approx. 0.5cm depth.

Drill - Broadcast or a grass seed harrow seems to be the best type of drill for best establishment.

Rolling - A light roll will help conserve moisture and ensure seed has good seed to soil contact.

Monitoring - Keep an eye out for pest e.g. Slugs and weevils.

Timing - The annual fallow can be sown in the spring or autumn, making sure it is drilled into warm soils where there is moisture present.

It likes a fine and weed free seedbed. Sowing in the spring will help with grass weed control.
